Southeast Asia is a truly beautiful part of the world with so much to do and see.
Because of this, it can be tough trying to decide where to go!
So, I've made a list of the best destinations in Southeast Asia and why they're worth a visit:
Thailand:
This is an ever popular destination amongst travelers, and it's easy to see why. From the vibrant streets of Bangkok to the beautiful beaches in the south, Thailand has something to suit everyone.
Like everywhere in SEA, it won't be hard to find delicious food. Make sure to try out some authentic Thai street food. Popular dishes include are Pad thai and Tom yum goong.
Head to Koh Tao or Koh Phangan in the south, and go diving or snorkeling to see the amazing marine life.
You can't go to Thailand without a visit to the beautiful beaches in Phuket or Koh Samui. The crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches are breathtaking.
Vietnam:
Vietnam is another country rich in history and culture. It has bustling cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh to the peaceful countryside, to peaceful the peaceful countryside, Vietnam offers something for everyone.
Like Thailand, Vietnam is known for its amazing food, beautiful beaches, and breathtaking natural beauty. For the foodies Vietnam is known for dishes like Pho and Banh mi.
In Vietnam there's no shortage of beautiful beaches and stunning natural beauty, including the rice terraces in the north - not to be missed!
Indonesia:
Indonesia is a diverse country made up of thousands of islands. From the crowded streets of Jakarta to the beautiful beaches of Bali, Indonesia also has a little bit of something for everyone.
Like other regions in SEA Indonesia is known for its temples. One being the ancient temple of Borobudur.
For food, some of the most popular dishes include Nasi goreng and Gado gado.
Indonesia too is home to beautiful natural landscapes, including the rice terraces of Bali and the rainforests of Sumatra.
Laos:
Have you heard of Laos? Laos is the lesser-known destination in Southeast Asia. Like other parts of SEA Laos is home to many beautiful temples, including the stunning Wat Phu. You'll find stunning natural beauty everywhere you go, including the Kuang Si Waterfall and the Mekong River. If you're travelling SEA make sure to add Laos to your list.
Malaysia:
Malaysia is a diverse country with a little something for everyone. With its vibrant streets of Kuala Lumpur to the beautiful beaches of the east coast, Malaysia too has a lot to offer.
Some dishes popular to the area include nasi lemak and char kway teow.
If you'd like to visit more temples head to the Batu Caves and the Thean Hou Temple.
If you're visiting Malaysia make sure to explore its beautiful natural landscapes. Take a trip to the rainforests of Borneo and the Cameron Highlands and don't miss the chance to visit the Petronas Twin Towers and the Central Market.
